Three Peaks Organics

Three Peaks Organics grow organic blueberries in Holwell, Tasmania. The farm wasn’t using chemicals, sprays or fertilisers, so it seemed like a natural progression for them to become organic, achieving certified organic status late in 2015. Three Peaks Organics base their growing principles around taste rather than yields. They are currently updating their brand and value adding in order to achieve a sustainable farm which has produce to sell throughout the year. Currently 95% of their produce goes to the Mainland, however customers can also buy direct from their farm gate. In the next 2-3 years they are looking to expand their blueberry production and develop their organic range of different produce. Wines for Joanie

We threw caution to the wind, left our farm in sunny Queensland and bought a vineyard in Tasmania’s Tamar Valley. In the blink of an eye we were crossing Bass Strait with a ute, 2 dogs, a horse and a prissy cat. We see our job in simple terms; to nurture the best from each vine and let the fruit do the talking. As far as we’re concerned, viticulture is king. Growing gorgeous balanced fruit is a labour of love and an undervalued art. We’re both from farming backgrounds so it no surprise that viticulture is what we’re all about. We realise that growing things and getting your hands dirty isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. However, we love the challenge of growing beautiful cool climate fruit and truly believe that getting things right in the vineyard is the best way to produce exquisite, balanced wines for you to enjoy. We make Sparkling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Its taken a while to get here, but here we are making Wines for Joanie. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy growing them. The Tasmanian Baby Food Co.

Baby food created from the freshest seasonal and local produce sourced from Tasmanian farm gates! The Tasmanian Baby Food Co. will have available at Harvest Market single and combination purees that are a blend of ingredients sourced from local farmers and made from 100% Tasmanian fruits and vegetables. The ingredients change with the season and are interesting and unique combinations with the addition of small amounts of herbs and spices in order to develop the palates of little people. Organic or spray free produce is used wherever possible and the product is free from preservatives, additives, flavours, refined sugar, salt and fillers, and is steamed or roasted before being snap frozen to ensure optimal freshness and nutritional levels. The Tasmanian Baby Food Co. are proud to say that they are ‘picked, pureed & packaged locally’. The Tasmanian made range is cooked by qualified chefs in a commercial kitchen and uses the techniques of steaming and roasting to ensure the most nutrients possible are retained from the food. The final product is then snap frozen to lock in all the good stuff for babies. The purees are packaged in an easy to use environmentally friendly BPA free snap lock food grade container that is microwave, freezer & dishwasher safe. The Tasmanian Baby Food Co. began after the owners found there weren’t many options available for busy and time poor parents who wanted to provide nourishing and highly nutritious food for their children, but who may not have the time to make it themselves. The owners vision for the business is to bring to the world of baby food the concept of eating seasonally, locally & fresh. Rest assured if you choose to have food from The Tasmanian Baby Food Co. mummy & daddy guilt will no longer exist because it is as good as having made it yourself. Your little one and you will love it! See the full range available at www.tasmanianbabyfoodco.com.au and visit us at Harvest Market every fortnight from January...

Tasman Sea Salt

Tasman Sea Salt harnesses the best of Tasmania’s natural resources – clean air and nutrient rich waters – to create one of the purest sea salts on the market. Our bright white flakes have a robust yet clean taste with naturally occurring marine minerals giving them an incredible depth of flavor. Tasman Sea Salt is harvested from the crystal clear waters of Great Oyster Bay on the east coast of Tasmania. Trace minerals found naturally in these waters provide for a salt which is rich in potassium with lower levels of sodium than many other salts on the market. Tasman Sea Salt’s production process is exceptionally energy efficient, minimising the impact on the surrounding environment. Our innovative technology amplifies naturally occurring evaporation rates, creating an end product that is 100% natural with nothing added and nothing removed. Founders and farmers Chris Manson and Alice Laing have a passion for and background in artisanal food production in the UK, and returned from Europe to Chris’ home-state Tasmania with the dream of producing one of the world’s finest sea...

Tamar Valley Hydroponics

Our family moved to Glengarry during 2015 from Central Queensland and in July of this year Tamar Valley Hydroponics was born. Our plan was simple –  provide top quality produce all year round and ensure this was a true family business. With 5 children there are always eager helpers to lend a hand when it is needed. This business is in its infancy and we hope that as time passes our original goal remains. We currently grow tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, capsicum  and cucumbers. Hopefully into the future we will expand into garlic, pumpkins and array of fresh and dried herbs. Contact: jamiespark1770@gmail.com...

Avocado Moon

Avocado Moon is Tasmania’s first kombucha brewer and we are here to bring you the highest quality, locally sourced, artisanal kombucha around. Looking to the seasons and farmers for inspiration, we aim to bring you something a little different and entirely Tassie. With brews such as: Lemon Myrtle, Blackberry Ginger, Strawberry Basil and Lavender Thyme, we aspire to capture the flavor of the island in every bottle.  Sourcing local isn’t the only priority at the top of our list, so is the environment. This is why we have made the conscious decision brew in glass and have initiated a bottle return program. Yep, that’s right, just like the good ‘ole days, we collect our bottles back and reuse them. Operating out of Fresh On Charles in Launceston, we encourage you to stop in and see our fermenting brews in action. A strange name for a kombucha company, Avocado Moon is actually the ever-evolving dream and life’s work of owner, Lauren Thomas (you may know her as LT). “It’s the burning desire within me to create, it’s my longing for a better future, it’s my passion for teaching and learning, learning and teaching. For me, that looks like an educational farm, which encourages and enables people to explore the potential and beauty of a sustainable life; a life less taxing on the environment and the seven generations that will inhabit it after us. This is my dream. This is Avocado Moon.” Brewing kombucha is our first step towards that dream. We are here to educate Tasmania on the benefits of fermented food and bring order back into the chaos that is the result of an industrialized food...

Seven Springs Farm

Seven Springs Farm is situated in Lorinna, one of the most pristine areas of farmland in the world. Lorinna is located in the upper Forth River valley, Tasmania, on the outskirts of the Cradle Mountain Lake- St. Clair National Park and World Heritage Area. It is a small mountain community, off the power grid and isolated from the influence of conventional agriculture. Our farm is certified through Australian Certified Organic (ACO). We are a family of four: Wouter, Elyse, Arend and Gita. Wouter’s passion for many years has been growing vegetables and living sustainably. He started ‘de doederij’, one of Belgium’s first CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms in 2010, and passed it on in 2013 when we moved back to Australia. Elyse was born in Lorinna and sustainability has always been embedded in her way of life. With a strong base in renewable, organic practices and a long standing family tradition of growing vegetables, our market garden provides certified organic produce available on a weekly basis: at the Launceston farmers’ market, through our webstore and in a few different shops, restaurants and cafes statewide. We do doorstep deliveries once a week. Preordering is also possible for collection at the farmers’ market – convenient for people who aren’t able to be there early enough to catch limited produce. We grow up to 70 different crops and only use heirloom and open-pollinated varieties to ensure high quality produce with great flavour. Our seedlings, potting mixes, solar and micro-hydro electricity are all produced on farm. We also save seed and propagate our own vegetable varieties, with particular pride in Wouter’s Belgian cauliflower and leek. We aim to use as little packaging as possible. When we must, we choose biodegradable materials and take it as our responsibility to care for the environment. In addition to growing vegetables and fruit we run fibre animals for certified organic fleece and to ensure a healthy fertility balance on our land. All the produce we supply is grown on our farm: this way consumers are 100% sure where and from whom their food comes from, and who they are...

Second generation best friends (our mothers were best friends), Sonya and Leanne have teamed up with Leanne’s teenage daughter Faith to create raw, vegan, and living food and beverage products. At Three Fermented Queens we source local produce and then naturally ferment it in Tasmania’s Tamar Valley. Unique ingredients are used in our food products and include the native Tasmanian pepperberry, as well as sea salt and seaweed from the pristine waters surrounding our island. Our fermented beverage, kombucha, also has a Tassie twist as it is brewed using Tasmania’s own ‘Art of Tea’ Tassie Devil Blend tea and flavoured with locally grown raspberries. The art of naturally fermenting food and beverages has been around for centuries. The process enhances the amount of probiotics, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals contained in the food……..very, very good for your gut and digestive system! Do your gut a favour……eat Three Fermented...
