Floral delights and Harvest volunteers – May 13

Heathermoor Peonies will be at Harvest this Saturday with two root stock varieties of their stunning peonies – Marguerite Gerard (light pink) and Felix Crouse (bright pink), ready to plant now! Tas Daffodils also have a large range of floral bulbs and root stock available including daffodils, tulips and freesias, along with succulents and cut sunflowers. Some great gift ideas for Mother’s Day, plus Lily Farm and Southern Flowers will have their beautiful cut blooms, and Plants Direct Tasmania will have plenty of potted herbs, seedlings, fruit plants and roses. It’s also a good opportunity to give your soil a boost with some of Frank’s Char from Terra-Preta Developments.

National Volunteer Week – thank you to our volunteers!
Harvest Launceston is truly a Community Farmers’ Market and on top of our essential Market Managers, it takes 24 people who volunteer each and every Saturday to set up, man the gates, answer queries at the information stall and pack it down again, not to mention the passionate group of volunteers on the Board who are responsible for making the strategic decisions for this NFP organisation…and keep the organisation in the black! Thank you just isn’t enough for this dedicated troop of Harvest Volunteers and their Volunteer Coordinator, Greg Hannan, who show up each and every Saturday to donate a couple of hours of their time and for those who just squeeze us into their schedule when they can. You are the lifeblood of Harvest, the reason we can do what we do and we thank you. Please know you are helping our community be the best it can through your selfless efforts….we hope you have a bit of fun helping out too!

For anyone wanting to join our Harvest Volunteer crew for as little or as much time as you can spare or if you have an organisation wanting to be part of our ‘Friends of Harvest’ program please just let us know by emailing enquires@harvestmarket.org.au.
