Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes

Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes is a small family business based in the Meander Valley in the beautiful north of Tasmania. It is the result of the merging of two local small businesses: Tasmanian Natural Garlic and Four Springs Produce. On the 2014 retirement of TNG founders and owners, Rosie & Andrew Mackinnon, their garlic business was taken over by good friends and neighbours, Annette and Nevil Reed, who have been growing garlic and heirloom tomatoes for a number of years.

At Tasmanian Natural Garlic & Tomatoes we produce and direct-market top quality fresh produce to high end restaurants, fruit and vegetable outlets, delicatessens and nurseries within Tasmania and the mainland. We also produce an increasing line of quality garlic and tomato-based products, ensuring .

Having lived all our lives in Tasmania’s central north, we bought our farm, “Halfway” at Selbourne in 1987. Always on the lookout for something productive and different to do on our small farm we have produced beef cattle, Dorper sheep, Perigord Truffles. We started trialling garlic in 2009. The garlic and our soil  liked each other and we have continued the alliance ever since. We began growing heirloom tomatoes for a Tasmanian seed distributor. However, when we discovered the beautiful array of taste colour and variety in heirloom tomatoes, we decided they were too good to simply crush for seed extraction. We decided we preferred to show and sell our beautiful fruit fresh. Thus began our quest to introduce the  idea of diversity in a limited number of products direct to our customers.

We currently produce over 60 varieties of heirloom tomatoes and 6 garlic cultivars. All are field grown, nurtured and ripened by the sun, harvested when ready to eat. We farm using organic and biological means.
