Jenny Edis and Mary Mulvaney – Co-founders
Jenny Edis took part in the Tasmanian Leaders Program in 2011 and her Community Project Proposal was to establish a community farmers’ market in Launceston.
As we all know, that went incredibly well, read her project proposal here-Community Project Proposal – Harvest Launceston – 17.01.12.
What made you get involved with Harvest?
Meeting Jenny Edis when I’d just arrived in Launceston and working with her to establish the market and form the committee
What does Harvest mean to you?
Harvest is my Launceston community
Your favourite Harvest Memory?
Standing on the stage with Jenny at the inaugural market in 2012 and looking out at the crowd of people when we were worried no one would come; going on bended knee to Tim Jarosz from Ritual Coffee to ask if he would take over the breakfast stall … and he said yes!; feed dating on Flinders; raisin toast and coffee at Stillwater; celebrations and chats with stallholders; meeting so many wonderful people over the Harvest years, seeing the market unfold every Saturday, having so much fun and always solving problems with laughter. Too many favourite memories!!
