South Cape and Mil Lel parmesan cheese are produced by a multinational dairy company called Saputo Inc who has factories on King Island and Burnie. The Heritage site in Burnie is where they make parmesan cheese that has won awards around the world. The South Cape parmesan is packaged in Tasmania and the Mil Lel is aged and packed in regional Victoria. Other cheeses made by Saputo in Tasmania including such premium brands as South Cape, King Island Dairy, Heidi Farm, Mersey Valley and Tasmanian Heritage.
So enjoy the best parmesan on the supermarket shelves, knowing it was made locally in your State.
