Truffle season 2020 kicks off at Harvest Market this weekend for Tamar Valley Truffles – we can’t wait to shave some of those nuggets of gold over a mushroom risotto made from Hillwood Fresh mushrooms!
After a bit of a damp one last weekend, this weekend is promising beautiful crisp, sunny winter mornings – perfect to explore the market and stock up on the best Tasmanian fare. As well as truffles, this weekend sees the return of Bolani and Smallgrain to our stallholder mix.
Tassie Hemp will also be at the market this weekend with their hemp seeds and hemp seed oil. Hemp seeds are incredibly nutritious with high amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Sprinkle them on your morning oats or pop some in a smoothie. Tim and Kate love talking about hemp, so be sure to stop by their stall and ask them about their favourite ways to utilise this superfoods.
And finally, due to popular demand, Vicky from Vix Kitch has been busy in the kitchen whipping up some of her world famous chilli jam – the perfect condiment for toasted sourdough with scrambled eggs for a lazy brunch…. actually it’s the perfect condiment for almost anything!
