Outdoor cinema experiences, community engagement, juicy oysters, and autumnal changes

A change is as good as a holiday. So they say. Whoever coined that phrase was in need of a proper holiday. Nonetheless, a little break from proceedings is a good thing from time to time. With that, Harvest is proud to present, alongside TARGA Tasmania and separately, BOFA Film Festival, our Outdoor Cinema Experience Series, 2022.

Kicking off Saturday the 23rd of April with Herbie: Fully Loaded. In conjunction with TARGA Tasmania’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, we’ll bring you an evening of food, drinks, entertainment, and close-up experiences of some of the world’s most amazing racing machines!

Harvest’s Outdoor Cinema Experience Series will dial up the fun to ward off the onset of winter’s chill.

Wow, it feels good to say all that out loud finally!

Then, on April 30th and May 7th, we’ll bring you films from the BOFA Film Festival. Screening Once and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs respectively, Harvest is proud to be partnering with a new-look BOFA in 2022. We Love hosting our cinema events. Bringing such a great series of experiences to the whole community fills us with joy!

Plan your autumnal fun now! Tickets and information are available through the various links above.

The market is truly packed with fun and excitement for everyone this week and in many, many more to come. Western United Football Club is giving away tickets this week, plus Second Echo Ensemble is doing community activation and hands-on kite-making workshops. Also, April will see the return of Whats on Hawkas Fork with the Hawthorn Hawks and Hawka himself!

Further down the track, we’ll bring you fermentation stations, TasBash 2022 and much more. Check out our Facebook events page for all the info you need to get involved.

Now, onto the juicy stuff coming at you this week. Say, for example, oysters! Bruny Island Oysters are making the journey north to bring you the very finest examples of a delicacy emblematic of our incredible state. Or blueberries! Get juicy with Three Peaks Organics who are back from a break. Modo Mio is making a brief but long-awaited comeback. Elphin Grove Farm is back from a week off with delicious celeriac. New Norfolk Distillery is on hand for a wee dram plus La Cantara and Tassie Hemp return. Further, it’s getting toward full seasonal change so get in soon for some last hurrahs for some of the summer producers.

To finish, see all that amazing stuff going on up there? It’s all going on thanks to the amazing work of the Launceston community, and if you think your community group has something to add to the market, we would love to hear from you. Info on how you can be part of our Community Engagement Program is on the Get Involved link at the Harvest website.

Ok, signing off on the big plugs for a while. See you at the market x
