@Harvest | January 1, 2022 – The Recovery Market

Happy New Year! 2022, we welcome you with open arms! May you be a significant improvement on the first two years of the decade. Come and recover, celebrate and put an end to the no-icecream new year’s resolution with your local farmers and food producers at the Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market.

Aforementioned farmers and producers have forgone the revelry in favour of bringing you the bounty of their paddocks with Steve’s VegiesLaos Farm and Felds Farm all turning out in force. Michael from Felds has even been nurturing a paddock of potatoes through winter and spring especially for us! Now he has reaped, and has bought forth his abundance of delicious spuds for your summer barbeques and chippies.

For an early morning coffee fix, see the baristas at Ritual Coffee to catch latte or a batchy made from locally roasted beans. Be patient, they’ll probably need the fix as much as the punters 😉 Nic and Em from Sweet Wheat saw the old year out while watching the dough rise for Their signature sourdough pastries and bread. Tas Juice Press have journeyed north to quench your new year thirst with juices that have the power to revive the most destroyed of post-celebration palates.

Sally from Wanderlust spent the last day of 2021 elbows deep in prep for a feast of vegetarian dishes like hash brown breakfast bowls and bumper brekkie pies. If roti is your thing, start the year off right with Tassie Murtabak,  feed your soul with Korean pancakes from Seoul Food or sliders from One On The Slide. Anton and the Meat Bread Cheese team started their new year extra early to set up for a feast of toasties and what could be one of the world’s finest bacon and egg rolls. If none of these fix your dusty noggin, nothing can.

Stock up the pantry and fridge with ethical salmon from 41 degrees South, organic dairy and cheese from Elgaar Farm and Red Cow, olive oils, salts, jams, pickles, mushrooms, cider, fresh herbs and salad greens, quiches, pies, local honey and beer, raw cakes, and for that special person in 2022, take home a bouquet of blooms from The Green Flower Farm. Literally any one of these things is sure to leave you feeling happy and healthy by the end of your first Harvest outing of 2022.

The joy keeps coming to! Punching out some recovery and good-vibe tunes on the SOMA stage are our two absolute favourites Disco Duma and Vinyl in the Vines. These cats will light up your New Year’s morning with funk, soul, disco, reggae, ragga R&B and so much more. So stoked on this!
