Spring has sprung and at Harvest Market this means we start to see the return of some seasonal stallholders and welcome some exciting new stallholder additions!
This week, Della Valle Gelato will be returning with their award-winning range of artisanal natural gelato. Have you tried their Australian Gold Medal (Australian Dairy Produce Competition) winning Hazelnut gelato? Using hazelnuts from locally owned and operated Hazelbrae Hazelnuts, this is a truely Tasmania product and we can guarantee that one scoop will not be enough.
This week also sees the much anticipated return of Seven Springs Farm. Direct from his organic market farm in Lorrina, Wouter offers a premium range of fresh fruit and vegetables. Forget about supermarket bought produce that spoils after only a few days – Wouter’s produce is guaranteed to last!
Get your garden ready for Summer with Frank’s Char. Biochar is used to improve your soil by storing nutrients and water so that plants have ready access as they need it. Enhance plant growth and boost the sustainability of your garden with this 100% Tasmanian made product. Frank is incredibly passionate about his Char and will be available this weekend to explain why Biochar is dubbed “black gold for soils”.
We also welcome new stallholder Tamar Valley Pastured Eggs to Harvest this weekend. Alternating fortnightly with Bantick’s Farm, marketgoers can buy their eggs direct from the producer knowing they are genuinely free-range. Tamar Valley Pastured Eggs have a flock size of 100 – 120 chooks who roam freely among fresh pastures of the Tamar Valley. Roosting in purpose-built “chook caravans” that are moved regularly to fresh fields, life for these chooks is a perpetual holiday! Read more about Tamar Valley Pastured Eggs in this weeks Producer Profile.
See you at the market!
