Liquid Gold for Spring | September 5, 2020

Gold medal winner

Congratulations to Allen from The Village Olive Grove for bagging a gold medal at the Australian Golden Olive Awards, which were announced last Saturday.  Tasmanian olive oil is particularly sought after as the cool climate means a long growing season, which ripens olives that are particularly nutritious. Tasmanian extra virgin olive oils have a significantly high proportion of oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated fat that enhances the health value and makes these oils and olives a must in any Harvest produce bag!

A reminder about dogs at the market

As many of you would be aware, there was a terrible dog incident at Farmgate market in Hobart recently.  A dog that was walking along the pavement with its owner was attacked by a tethered dog whose owner was shopping inside the market.  This incident not only put both dogs at risk, but also the owner, market patrons including many children, stallholders and market staff.  It was obviously very traumatising for all who witnessed the incident.  We would like to remind everyone that Harvest Launceston has a strict no dogs policy* and we discourage dogs being tied up outside the market.  Harvest Launceston takes no responsibility for dogs (or animals) tethered outside the market.  At all times, your pet is your responsibility.  Thank you for your understanding on this.

*Service dogs excepted

The weather this weekend is looking like terrific market weather with a top of 16 forecast.  See you at the market!
