New Look, New Year and Christmas Greetings

The fence is up and a line has been drawn in the asphalt making a clear break with the old and embracing the fresh new look at Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market. As we farewell 2018 and anticipate an exciting year ahead, the team at Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market wish all a happy and festive holiday season and pay tribute to all who continue to make us an award winning weekly celebration of local produce, producers, farmers and community.

The New Year promises to be exciting for Launceston with the new hotel development going up behind the fence. The management team would like to say thank you to the market community for their support and encouragement during the past weeks of transition. In particular our stallholders who have been getting up a little earlier than usual to meet the challenges of working out where to go and new ways of setting up and being at the market.

Our volunteers have been the backbone in ensuring that the reconfiguration happened as smoothly as possible. They have been on hand at gates, the Harvest stall and rubbish bins to explain, assist and work out where favourite stallholders are located. Next time you are down at the market, please stop and say thank you to them, thank you for their effort, their sense of humour and ability to keep on smiling even during the tough moments.

Our stallholders, who have been patient and understanding when layouts have had to quickly change and adapt. To the Launceston City Council who have assisted Harvest in so many ways, from making power accessible, to providing signage and assistance in getting the message out about our new look.

Most importantly, Harvest Launceston is an outstanding market because locals continue to attend each week to buy the produce, chat to the producers, catch up with friends and family. During these past weeks of change, locals have continued to support the market, to come down, find a new spot to park and show the farmers and producers that they are an important part of what makes Launceston a great place.

Thank you again, please continue to join the market community each Saturday and keep on letting us know how we are doing.
