Okonomiyaki, Olive Oil, and Organic Cheeses | November 7, 2020

At Harvest Market this Saturday we are celebrating the start of the final month of Spring!

Della Valle Gelato will be at the market with a mouth-watering array of gelato flavours, the perfect treat to follow an Okonomiyaki from Smallgrain.  Okonomiyaki are a traditional Japanese savoury pancake and are just delicious if you’ve never had the opportunity to try one! Thirlstane Gardens will have their famous fresh basil, exclusive to Harvest Launceston, so be sure to pay Graham a visit and nab some of this sought-after herb early.  Our 3 award winning Olive oil producers will be there with their liquid gold too – Coronea Grove, Lentara and The Village Olive Grove.

Andy from Red Cow Organics has her fortnightly visit this weekend, so we are well covered for cheeses with Elgaar, Coal River and Southern Sky also at the market.  And if you’d prefer a vegan option, of course Artisa will be there too with their cashew-based vegan “cheese”.  If it’s eggs you’re after, our egg needs will be catered for this weekend by Meredith and the team from Tamar Valley Pastured Eggs and, of course, both Newry Farm Asparagus and Headlam Farm Asparagus are both at the market each week currently.  Asparagus season is traditionally short and sweet in Tasmania, usually finishing up just prior to Christmas.  Be sure to make the most of the season while it lasts – nothing beats fresh, locally grown Tasmanian asparagus!

This weekend we have Sunshine Caravan playing on the SOMA Community Stage from 9:30-11:30

The weather is looking like perfect market weather, with a light breeze and mostly sunny conditions forecast.

See you at the market!
