Tulips and Tassie Hemp and Wasabi | October 3, 2020

Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market were delighted to recently be named as a finalist in not one, but two categories in the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards – the Community Group of the Year and the EPA Sustainability Award.  We would LOVE you to vote for us in the People’s Choice Award.  You can cast 1 vote for Harvest Market every day until November 2nd! http://bit.ly/TASCAA20PeoplesChoice

This weekend we have a bounty of Tasmanian Produce lined up for our market-goers.  The Tassie Hemp Shop will be at the market with their hemp hearts and hemp oil.  For those of you who haven’t tried them, hemp hearts are an amazing source of Omega fatty acids – try sprinkling them on your favourite snack or adding them to a smoothie!  Tasmanian Wasabi Products will also be there with their famous wasabi dressing and pickled wasabi.  The wasabi from Tasmanian Wasabi Products celebrates the delicate and delicious flavours that can be achieved growing wasabi in Tasmania.  If you’re holding off, worried that the wasabi will be too hot for you, be sure to go and meet Mathew, the producer and get the low down on this incredible herb.

We will also have our regular fortnightly visits from Thistle Hut Proteas and Cut Flowers and Meander Pastured Free Range Eggs.  For your fresh veg needs, Steve’s, Laos and Seven Springs will have the best, freshly picked, seasonal Tasmanian produce.

Emmaleigh Groeneveld will be gracing the Soma Community Stage this weekend with her chilled tunes.
