Raspberries, BOFA and a Cameo from Vix Kitch – May 4, 2019

The rain on Thursday and Friday must mean it’s AGFEST weekend!  We’re hoping it’s all rained out by Saturday and we can enjoy the mostly sunny day that’s being forecast at Harvest tomorrow.

For a bit of excitement, Vicky and Malcolm from VixKitch will be back for a cameo appearance this week. Vicky has been busy in her break and will have a range of her usual products and a few new ones to try.  We are also very fortunate to have another cameo from Stuart from Bioberries Tasmania with some fresh Autumn Raspberries.  Raspberries at this time of the year are so sweet – do yourself a favour and get in early for a punnet of these!  Lenah Game Meats will also be at the market with their delicious kransky and wallaby sausages.

Tamar Valley Hydroponics are in their final week or two for the season, so be sure to stock up from them.  We’re loving the fact they’ve made the switch to paper bags for their cherry tomatoes, rather than plastic punetts, well done TVH!  Huski Greens will be at market with their delicious micro greens.  If you get the time to go and chat to Mac, she will give you all sorts of ideas of how to use these delicious, healthy greens.  For other fresh veg Steve’s, Laos and Seven Springs will have the best, freshly picked, seasonal Tasmanian produce.

BOFA will be our ‘Friends Of Harvest’ tomorrow giving you all the information for next weeks film festival. BOFA bring films to Tasmania that are receiving acclaim at international and national film festivals.
