This week at the Harvest Launceston Community Farmers’ Market we are celebrating our amazing producers as well as being back on our home ground. First up, thank you to all of you who came down last week to support our local producers and helped to ensure a safe market place for the community to enjoy.
The Tasmanian State winners of the delicious. produce awards recognised our outstanding producers. The awards “unearth and champion Australia’s best and most innovative primary produce and producers with an emphasis on provenance, seasonality and sustainable production methods”.
From the dairy winners are Elgaar Farm for their organic fresh cream. Harvest is also very excited to welcome back Red Cow Organics who have received the award for their Persian feta. Red Cow Organics’ first market back is 20th June 2020.
From the pasture winner is Fork It Farm for their pasture raised Berkshire pork.
We are also celebrating our women in agriculture and Plants Direct’s Karen Brock took out the Tasmanian Agrifutures Rural Women’s 2020 Award.
Congratulations to all!
This week at Harvest we have Strelleyfield Farm with their duck, KimChiMe bring a variety of pickled vegetables for their monthly visit.
