Get a bit of pork on your fork this weekend with Oldway Farm’s range of free range, cryvac pork products. Using organic and sustainable farming practices, their pigs roam and graze freely on fresh green pasture and enjoy an additional diet of apples and legumes. Tamar Artisan Small Goods’ will also have their handmade artisan bacon in a selection of mouth watering flavours, including garlic, maple, chilli, and classic. Come down and meet the producers – Bjarke, Luke and Melissa – who are only too happy to share the story behind their products.
If your cravings are too strong to resist and you’re looking for a quick porky fix, make a beeline for Mount Gnomon Farm and grab yourself a hot Bacon & Egg Roll, BLT or go top shelf with the Beef & Bacon Burger. Imagine a homemade beef pattie, piece of smokey handcrafted bacon, tilsit cheese, homemade relish, caramelised onion and garden fresh greens served between a crusty sourdough roll. Now get down to Harvest this weekend and imagine no longer.
The season has turned and Windara Orchard are back with the first of their apple harvest. Take home a bag of Golden Delicious, Gravenstein or Cox Orange Pippin this weekend. A perfect lunch box snack for the kids, sliced and packed with some tasty chunks of cheddar cheese from Southern Sky Cheese Company or Elgaar Farm.
Don’t forget to head along to the Tasmanian Natural & Tomato Festival this Sunday the 15th of March. It’s a day steeped in everything garlicky and tomatoey with tastings, produce, guest speakers, competitions and lots, lots more!
